In Geography one of the first things to be mastered is an understanding of landscape. In this book the approach used is through examination of a series of photographs that are then analysed by using directed questions and annotated field sketches to identify landscape features. Practise of these skills through observation and recording of local areas to show students how to appreciate the geographical features of various landscapes and how to record using mapping and field sketching follows. This book contains general discussion of Geography around the world but has a particular focus on landscape patterns in Australia. Of historical interest as well due to methods used for analysis of landscape and changes in the areas (photographs and maps) discussed since this book was written.
